This getting-started guide was written to help those interested in volunteering for the Central Valley Robotics FIRST LEGO League Jr. Program.
FIRST LEGO League Jr. captures young children’s inherent curiosity and directs it toward discovering the wonders of science and technology. This program features a real-world scientific concept to be explored through research, teamwork, construction, and imagination. Guided by adult Coaches, teams use LEGO® bricks to build a model that moves and develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey.
Being a volunteer for the FIRST LEGO League Jr. program is easy and there is no prior experience necessary. The time commitment is typically a Saturday for about 4 hours as well as online training (1-2 hrs) for certain roles. Some roles may require additional self study.
