This getting-started guide was written to help those interested in volunteering for the Central Valley Robotics FIRST LEGO League Program.
FIRST LEGO League introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. Teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society.
Being a volunteer for the FIRST LEGO League program is easy and there is no prior experience necessary. The time commitment is typically a Saturday (approx. 8AM – 5PM, depending on the event) as well as a training session (1-2 hrs) for certain roles. Some roles may require additional self study.
